The Lakeshore Optimist Club has proudly served Grosse Pointe and the surrounding communities since 1980 as a local branch of Optimist International. As a community-focused volunteer organization, we dedicate our time and energy to making a positive impact on local youth and community initiatives.
We are a group of passionate volunteers from the east side of Metro Detroit committed to improving lives through service and fundraising efforts. Our club focuses on supporting various community and youth-related activities, helping to create a brighter future for all.
As Optimists, we have always believed in creating a meaningful impact—on children, on those in need, on each other, and on ourselves. We know that the most effective way to create change is through positive, purposeful action.
The Lakeshore Optimist Club is committed to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" by supporting a wide range of community service initiatives. The club selects its projects and raises the funds to carry them out. Our efforts focus on enhancing the lives of young people, by supporting community programs, organizing youth speech contests, honoring youth achievements, and partnering with other charitable institutions.
Helen Keller once said:
"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence."
Life experiences create ways of thinking and ways of seeing things. Optimism is an attitude characterized by hope. Optimists expect things to turn out well because they believe they have the skill and ability to make good things happen.
Do you have the skill and ability to make good things successful? If you do, consider sharing your talents and your hopes with your community through our local Optimist Club.
